I loved the color and the way it comes, I was really impressed by the presentation of the product, perfect in every detail .
I have no talent for DIY then I found really complicated to die the back part of my hair.
The only thing I would complain is the smell, it’s a bit stronger then the one I am used to.
I’m hoping that the color last long because it’s lovely.

Being a natural strawberry blonde who lived with black hair for 15 years... pitch black... I started the long tiring scary journey of trying to get the black out. I had no expectations or specific color in mind when I started I just knew I wanted warmth. I used hair color remover once and ended up with patchy brassy orange blonde and bleach blonde mix. I was expecting this and was just happy the black was gone.
I used a semi-permanent strawberry blonde just to try to even out the brassy and patchiness. It worked ok but my roots went overly dark and as did the bottom of my hair. But it still looked ok so I left it for a while.
I ordered eSalon hoping for the best. And I am absolutely ecstatic with the results.... the color is a nice version of my natural color a little darker which I like and a ton of dimension AND no brassiness and no red... the colour they created neutralized the orange/red that was overtaking my hair.
The whole package - the little things like a roots vs ends bottle and the conditioner ... its a high level salon experience in the comfort of your own home and for a fraction of the cost.

The color doesn’t last. By the second wash it is coming out. It never happens on the initial formula but subsequent bottles are for roots and ends and therefore it washes right out.

Was completely satisfied except for my roots where my grey was showing. Color turned out great but grey cover up was a quite a bit lighter. Was a copper color & rest of hair was drk brown/mahogany/violet. Was looking for more violet than the mahogany because my hair turns more reddish no matter what color I try. Like the dark color, almost a plumb/ violet with the darkness of the dark brown as well.

i have stuck with this for several years, why, because they work with you until you are perfectly thrilled with the color. I have used all types of over the counter color plans, and found none to equal this product.
They may cost a bit more than regular drugstore color products but boy are they worth it.

I have been dying my hair blonde for years. I wanted to get away from the blonde and try to go with a more natural color that would blend more with my graying hair. I tried a retail brand's silver color and, given the color of my hair, it came out an unusual darker blonde which I kind of liked. I wanted to continue to get my color from esalon because I have been a satisfied customer for for a few years. I sent pictures and explained what I had done to myself and asked it they could come up with something similar. The first try was still too blonde for me. I reached out to esalon with this information and received a personal phone call from a colorist during which we discussed my color and I thought I was asking the impossible! But, after the conversation, I received a new adjusted color and I could not be happier. I get so many compliments on my hair mostly about how natural my color looks. I highly recommend the services and products of esalon!

Color turned out nice, I feel there is still red popping through? Could it be dulled down. Maybe that is just my natural hair, and I can't do much about it. But, my husband said he really liked it, and that he didn't want me to change anything about the formula.

I was very pleased with my color. My stylist hit my color right on. I wasn’t able to print the instructions so I had to keep looking back at my iPad. Luckily a friend of mine helped me out. After coloring I noticed my hair was very nice and soft. Unfortunately the stain remover didn’t immediately remove the color from my face. I really liked getting two bottles of color and developer. It was well worth the money. Also getting everything I needed to color my hair. However I cannot afford to do it again until April. I would like to receive a discount on my next shipment if possible because I understand that I would only receive one bottle of color and developer. Again kudos to my hair color expert on giving me a beautiful color.

Color could be a bit more red. Not darker or lighter, just more red and bright gold. I found it almost impossible to apply to JUST ROOTS, as my hair is fairly short and very fine and no matter what, the ends just suck in the color. I am very happy with quality and coverage of my grays.

I was amazed at how natural the color came out. At first I was nervous seeing how dark the color started to develop. I had a bad experience with box dye making my hair almost black, or a lighter brown with hot roots. The color came out a beautiful chocolate brown. It didn't cover some of my greys at the temple, but that's user error. Next time I'll leave it on longer. Other than that I'm happy. Thank you!

I really like this a lot because my hair still soft after coloring... with me, the store bought makes my hair dry and dull... However, i cancelled my subscription after 2 orders because my scalp is just too sensitive... i ended up having to deal with dandruff on both store bought and this one... So with any first time experiment, the end result is anticipated but there is always a bit of trepidation, especially when it comes to at home hair color. I held onto my box for 4 months before trying it. I was always short on time and let's face it, I was intimidated by all of the stuff in the box. I was used to one bottle and one pair of gloves. I also had a hard time sectioning my hair so I wound up making long ponytails and coloring that way. Most of the grey came out but I missed a couple strands in the front. But I'm happy with the end result. My hair is soft, and the color is pretty much what I thought it would be. I'll definitely use this service again and won't be so nervous next time.

You do a really nice job designing the colors, but I would have to say that the product itself does not cover the gray/silver good enough and it fades away too soon. My next order will need to have maybe a stronger level base to lift out the golden tones, also. I'm probably not using the correct terminology.

I would give my experience a 7 or 8 out of 10. I loved the customer service and the application itself was easy to follow.
I wish my color was a little more red like I wanted or that the color had taken to my hair a little better. I am not sure if the color not taking was my hair itself (I waited the appropriate time before moving onto next steps), since even when I go to a salon I have to wait extra time for color to take OR if the color not taking was user error since I have never self-dyed my hair and I may not have saturated as much as I thought I did. I also feel that the root color was too different from the ends color.
I do plan to give this box another try in the near future and hopefully the next color will be a little more to my vision. I really did find this easy and I loved the service so I am overall very pleased still! :)

The only thing I would have done differently is to leave the color on a full 30 minutes. I have a lot of gray and it wasn't quite long enough with the 15-20. But the color and feel are GREAT.

Wish grey coverage was slightly better but realize with a semi permanent there's no guarantee. Colour is so shiny. Hair feels amazing, so soft.

Because i have troubled hair with a silicon coating from all the wrong shampoos i have used i switched to silicone free shampoo. I did this because colour does not stick to my hair. After 30 washes it was out and i painted my hair with the colour i ordered. I was informed that the purple would not be a "screaming" purple but a brown colour with a purple sheen to it when the sun hits it. Im ok with that. Unfortunatly after painting my hair it was just brown. There is not 1 hair brown with a purple sheen. Im very dissapointed.
EDIT 20-12-2019 - I spoke with my colourist within 1 day after the review and got 1 credit free for a new colour. After ordering it I got an email with the request to upload a photo of the current colour after painting it. about 4 hours after sending the picture I got a new colour. They have changed the recipe just for me and I could not be more happy with this service. I am very happy that they responded so quickly with the best solution. I cannot wait to repaint my hair in 5 weeks. Keep up the good work! :)

It took a bit to find the right color, and im Still working to get what I’d want, but I’ve also gotten lots of compliments on my hair. Its also the first time I’m consistently dyeing it but it hasn’t seemed to change my texture, which is great.

I had been using eSalon Medium Ash Brown because even though I have medium brown hair, I also have a red cast especially on the top in the sun & Ash helps cut red. I have a little gray on top, which is very stubborn & really hard to cover. In fact, I still had grays popping through & a red cast. I talked to eSalon before I ordered again & explained what problems I was having & she suggested changing to Medium Brown & they would also make other changes to the neutralizer etc... to help with the red cast & the stubborn grays. Well, I colored my hair & am happy to say I have NO GRAYS showing through. The overall color is a little lighter than I was hoping for. I didn't see red showing through, but I do see lighter brown & I'm using the Toner Mask every other time I shampoo (with color safe shampoo & conditioner) so I'm hoping I don't see red come back as time goes on, because I noticed my hair is lighter brown after one shampoo & condition (for treated hair) & Toner Mask which was recommended to me instead of Tint Rinse.

I really loved this until my last 2 deliveries. It turned my hair a bit reddish, I sent my colorist a message for the next delivery and was told it was adjusted. The same think happened. I just received my most current delivery and will try it this weekend and see if anything has changed. If not, I will not be ordering again.

I love my color and the way my hair feels after using your product, but I find that my gray hairs at my temples seem to come out after only two or three weeks. I am using a shampoo for colored hair so I am just going to try to leave the color on that area longer next time I use your product.

The new colour is great, I really love it but the formula seems much thicker and was very difficult to squeeze out of the bottle

I love the color and many people have given me alot of complements .....but the only thing is that I have alot of hair and very long .....I need two bottles of each roots and end.....because last time I was short to do my ends......but I still will recommend it

It took a little tweaking because first few times I felt my color started to go brassy. I discussed with color specialist and went a tad darker and occasionally used the tint rinse. Light Sets became available and really gave a professional look to my hair. It let me go lighter without any brassiness. I color about every 6 weeks and highlight every few months

I'm still impressed with eSalon products. I think I waited a bit too long between colorings. However, I can't believe how well or how long the dye lasted. (8+ weeks) And I didn't have a lot (length) of gray showing. It seems the color faded all over...so when I followed the directions to only concentrate on my roots, then massage the rest in as I showered...I don't feel I got as good of a coverage over all as the first time. However, it gave the effect of having some highlights. I've had several compliments. So, I'm ok with it.
I tried the shampoos and leave in conditioner. Very pleased with them all.

A natural born redhead to the mother of a woman / "beautician" who as a single parent in the 50's had a beauty shop in our home! Unfortunately, I lost Mama Harriett when I was in my 30's and way before I had to start coloring my hair! When that day came, (when even my then teenage kids told me I should color my hair!), I picked up a box of Clairol Medium Auburn and that's what I used for years before I became dissatisfied with the drabness of my color after just a few weeks of coloring. I decided it was time for a change and grabbed a box of Clairol Medium Garnet...the results of which I'll spare you the details but guarantee HARRIETT was rolling over in her grave,,, LAUGHING!
I was in a huge hurry after I got out of the shower that morning and shocked myself when I looked in the mirror...I tried everything to get the dark stain off my skin on my eyebrows to no avail. I had an appointment with a new client I was following to their home from the hospital and could not be late. I threw on my strategically placed (to cover eyebrows) cool Olive Green Fedora and "owned it"... for two weeks! When I finally had the nerve to go out in public without the Fedora, my son-in-law was the first to ask if that's why I'd been wearing a hat while my daughter scrambled to call a shop to "get me fixed".
Quite frankly, my fear was that living on social security, I could not afford $140+ to color my hair each time and told my daughter the only way I would go to a shop was if they agreed to give me the formula.
$400 later, they gave me the formula alright but I didn't have a way to purchase the Professional Wella they were using without a license!! Finally, over a year later I learned about and contacted eSalon. I was able to give them my formula, which they duplicated and the rest is history!! it was like a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders...THANK YOU ESALON...I LOVE YOU!!
