I was delighted with this product. I was skeptical at first, since I needed to mix two different colors. One for the roots and one for the ends, but after I was done I loved the results.

I love my new color. The colorist did a fantastic job formulating the color based on current overgrown highlights, and desire to go dark with those highlights into low lights. Great color for my complexion, really highlights my hazel/green eyes. Beautiful!

My husband (who knows nothing about coloring hair) but who is a very patient man, has been coloring my hair the past 3-4 months with eSalon. I am using a light blond mix and finding the color is quite closely matched and I am very happy with it. He finds it easier to apply the product from a bowl rather than the squeeze bottle, putting the brush in the bowl to re-apply more color. The shampoo and conditioner they provide makes your hair feel so healthy and the purple rinse that was included with the first month, I use it every shampooing as it takes any brassiness out and I still have some left, but I wash my hair every 3-5 days. One suggestion: rinse the color out in the sink and not the shower. Since I had to take a shower the last time we colored my hair, I thought I would just be very careful not to get the product in my eyes as I was rinsing (with my head held back but under the showerhead ) but as careful as I tried to be, it's impossible not to have some run into your eyes. I rinsed them with water and saline solution, but maybe due to my allergies, my eyes itched terribly for days! I really like the eSalon color and will continue to use it.

I'm so impressed with how my custom color turned out!! I've never colored my own hair in my life, but I've done my mom's roots for a while so I knew I could do it. This blended in perfectly with my root color and covered all of my grays. It looks just as good (if not better) than when I go to the salon! I'm never going back. Thank you!! :)

I was very impressed with my set. The entire set and box seemed like it was made just for me. The instructions were easy to follow and the colour was perfect for my hair.

First time I have used esalon and I love it!!!!! I’ve recently just had a baby so haven’t dyed my hair for well over a year, was very sceptical at first and even the instructions were totally different to what I have done with regular hair dye. But I went for it and am so pleased with my colour and how it has turned out!!! I will definitely be trying the highlights soon. Could not recommend esalon enough!

I have been going to a specialist for my color so of course I was sceptical. But when I put the color on as per the easy to understand instructions the color was natural. So much so my husband made a comment on how natural he thought it looked.

Get's my hair black as it used to be. I'm 58, male, and in a profession where I'm judged on appearance. But this was really nailed down by the use of the Tint Rinse. The two combined are a knock-out punch. Highly recommended. I'm copying this review into the Tint Rinse, btw,

Love the new formula! I've always thought esalon has the best color for me but I've had trouble getting it washed out of my hair. It seemed to turn almost solid after leaving it in and would take almost an hour to wash out. I found myself losing hair in the attempt, and would still find color for the next few washes. This time, it washed out easily! I thought it was just a fluke until I saw the note about the new formula that easily washed out. Love it, and am much more likely to stay with Esalon ☺

tl;dr—i am more satisfied with the color i ordered recently than i was with my first color kit.
my natural hair color is pitch black. i’ve had a good history of changing my hair’s color. most of the time, dyes aren’t too effective. bleaching is the way to go to truly lighten my hair—i actually got fragile blonde highlights at a few points in my life. but i hate having to go to a quality salon just to spend $$$ on improving my appearance. so i resorted to esalon instead.
for my very first esalon color kit, i ordered the darkest brown intense pearl shade (if i can remember the name correctly). it was this brunette with undertones of purple & a bit of red. i ended up with some hot roots & most of the color showed up on good lighting. i asked for stronger purple undertones, but the reds showed up even more, ahaha. nevertheless, the overall result still looked cute & i was satisfied.
today, i dyed my hair with my second esalon color kit order. with adjustments for lighter color & everything. i also looked up some tips on avoiding hot roots & other self-dyeing mistakes. my gosh, the results are gorgeous. i achieved a delicious dark chocolatey brown. no hot roots at all! it looks so much more stunning underneath the sunlight. the good after-salon smell retains as i’m writing this. all i did was rebel against my personalized instructions a bit by doing my ends first before the roots (sorry...). i left the color gunk on the ends for a good 15-ish minutes, then kinda rushed with the roots.

I stopped coloring my hair blonde in 2016, as my hair has been growing out white since I was 27. My hair is naturally quite dark, and the dark blonde worked wonders on all my white hairs. Not one remains, just gorgeous, shiny, consistent time. This was my first time dying my hair myself, and I’m thrilled with the results!!

When the colorist directions are followed to the T (they don't write those for you just for flips and giggles), one will get beautiful coverage (greys or lighter hair) and smooth, even color throughout. My hair has a natural highlight sheen to it and I feel like it looks fresh and lively without having to do highlights. Fun (and money-saving)! I use permanent color because it stays longer in my hair (since I have greys. Shh!), but if I feel I need to color a little sooner than usual, I know I can because this permanent color is really safe and non- damaging. Believe me, I have really dry hair, and live in Colorado, and I would have been able to tell by now if my hair was having a crispy, dried out reaction. Honestly, my ends have actually been lessened since using eSalon color for the past 4 months. When your hair feels good, you feel good! Am I right?

The new formula is definitely improved! It didn't drip as much so went on much cleaner and easier. The best part though is NO STAINING! Even though I've always used the stain guard and would scrub after with stain remover, there was always staining around my hairline until it wore off in a couple days. With the new formula I didn't even need to open the stain remover packet! Big win especially for those of us with dark hair color!

I’ve never used color by myself before. My stylist has always applied it. I didn’t know that the pigment gradually develops to its full shade. I ended up handling things around the bathroom, only to have it stain later- so be aware. As for the color on my head, it looks beautiful. It matches my roots and I was able to apply it with proficiency because of the videos. I will definitely reorder.

Super easy to use. They provide extra product if your hair is long and thick. The two-step root process and then lighter golden brown came out damn near perfect. I mean, I really am impressed and will continue to use this product. $49 versus sometimes over $300? No brainer.

Over time, my hairdresser lost the shine and highlights of my color. This color brought it all back!! I was very nervous to color my own hair. But, the instructions were easy to understand and follow. My hair was shiny and smooth and a gorgeous color. I'm looking forward to coloring my own hair from now on. Saved $195!!!!

I love how this kit is put together so simple and fun! The color is amazing and left my hair so smooth and shiny. I got the weekly retreat hair mask with this kit and it is by far my favorite hair mask. My hair feels like I had an expensive treatment done! And customer service is beyond nice! I didn’t like how dark the roots color turned out so they adjusted it and gave me a credit for a free kit. I will be a esalon customer for life!

Right after I colored my hair I was worried that something was a little off, but after the first wash it was great. This color is still
blonde enough but it’s got enough warm tones that it doesn’t wash me out. Also it’s been three weeks since i’ve colored and i only have a couple of grays starting to poke through now. With boxed drugstore coloring I can usually see all the grays popping out after a couple of weeks. Great product will

I love how easy it is to use. Directions are clear and precise. Product color is spot on and it leaves my hair feeling thicker and with more body. Oh, and the included shampoo and conditioner packets are awesome. I "LOVE" the fragrance and feel of both. Wish I could buy them for continued use.

I needed grey coverage, but have a challenging strawberry blonde with lots of gold in it, so I cannot use a typical box color. The custom color by eSalon was PERFECT. I applied per package instructions, and in the last 5 minutes, ran the color through my hair to my ends. The result was an absolutely perfect match to my existing color. I am going to mix it up a bit for my next color, adding a touch more copper to my blend - I will keep you posted on the results, but I am sure they will be fabulous.

My colorist has done a amazing job updating my color to a beautiful golden blonde which I LOVE!!! Using the perfectly blended custom color and the Golden Tint combo, my hair has never looked better. I am getting compliments from everyone who sees it whether in person or pictures.

I thrilled I finally gave this a try! The color was exactly what I wanted on the first try. I have been asking for this color at the salon for years but it always turns out too dark or reddish. The grey coverage was 100% and the color did not fade. I no longer need to spend the time or my money at the salon!

I never expected such results from this product. My color is exactly what I have been searching for for years- Every time I went to a salon and paid sometimes hundreds of dollars I came out disappointed. Too Dark, Too golden - never perfect. Now I do it myself, when I have a quick hour & its exactly the color I have been wanting for years!

I am thoroughly impressed with my 2 colours I have received. I went from my blonde to copper and the results were fantastic. I used a Demi and it did wash out quite quick but I do wash my hair every other day. 2nd order has just arrived and I tweaked it at the last minute for a darker copper and for it to be permanent which my colourists Paul did with out any problems.
I have couloured my hair this morning and I must say it looks like I’ve just come out of a salon and it is very soft and shiny.
I can’t recommend this company enough and it’s safe to say I will only be going into my salon for a cut and blow dry now,so saving me a small fortune.

I was skeptical, but after the first color treatment which Was very close to my goal, I and my colorist adjusted the formula slightly for the second treatment. I now have perfect red hair again! Easy, cost effective, very good quality products. Thank you eSalon and Mindy!!

I've had my hair colored at a professional salon for more than 25 years, and I've been pleased with the color. When covid-19 happened I knew I had to find something else to take care of my hair color. I saw an ad for eSalon and thought I'd give it a try. Wow! I was surprised because it was so easy, and the color was perfect! I've had so many compliments. My close friends say this is the best hair color I've had in years. I honestly thought my previous color was fine (and I loved my stylist)- but I must admit this color is even better-and it's cheaper too. Thanks eSalon!

I began coloring my own hair using ESalon this past March 2020. I do not want red tones in my hair. I prefer blond and brown color for my complexion. From the start, my grey hair was covered and that's fantastic! However, the first four orders gave my hair a variety of red tones because they kept making adjustments based on my feedback. I provided photos and feedback and the team adjusted my color. Finally the perfect color has been achieved. I'm glad I was patient and worked with the eSalon color specialists until I found the correct formula. One of the reasons I stuck with this company is my hair has remained healthy. I trust their products.

I was spending up to $150.00 every six weeks to have my hair cut, colored, blown and styled. I wanted to try something that would cover all my gray (I have a lot) that would really work and that I could safely do it at home until the COVID pandemic settles down. My hair color turned out so nice I was truly shocked and all my gray was covered! I'm an avid bike bike rider so the natural golden highlights come out the more I'm in the sun. I'm very happy with this product. I love that you can tweak the color or contact customer service with questions/concerns! I'd highly recommend trying it out.
