I've had grey hairs since I was 16 so I've been coloring my hair for about 12 years and have switched from drug store box color, to fancy salons, and was NEVER HAPPY. My color would either come out way too dark (almost black), or the color washed out within a few weeks, REGARDLESS of whatever pricey shampoo my colorist talked me into. I had almost given up on maintaining my brown hair, when I heard an advertisement on a podcast that I listen to about eSalon. I gave it a shot, and I haven't and will never look back!! The personalized instructions are simple enough for a novice at home colorist like me to understand and the results look incredibly professional. The color matched perfectly and covers my grey. I have fairly dark brown hair, and I like how the colored greys lighten in the sun to make golden-like strands. Covering my greys used to mean eventual reddening of my hair, but this color selection seems to stop that from happening.

I don't have any complaints about the product. I received my order in a timely fashion. Was very impressed with the contents. Especially for the 1st time buyers cost of $10. My only issue is my customer color isn't exactly what I was hoping for. Though I take full responsibility for that because maybe my hair color isn't exactly the color I thought; so it doesn't look as light as I had wanted to be. I actually need another kit because not all my hair got colored. Mostly the grays and my roots still look dark. Overall I liked the product.

My requirements for a change in color were complex.
I have natural textured hair, 50% gray, with a permanent brown dye color that I got at my hairdressers. It faded to a brassy harsh tone which my hairdresser could not seem to correct.
I wanted a darker warmer brown base color with no yellow or red overtones and that is exactly what I got from eSalon. I followed the instructions religiously and I was rewarded with a rich warm purely brown color.
I can't believe that the colorist was able to accomplish exactly what I've been trying to get for more than a year from my hairdresser. Very very happy!

I was afraid of dying my hair because I thought my gray would come out to be some bright color or that it wouldn't cover my gray at all. I used Darkest Chocolate Brown and I love it. My gray is slightly lighter than the rest but I like it. It looks more like highlights.

I was spending a small fortune having my hair dyed at the salon because I couldn't find over the counter she that would cover gray and left my hair looking beatiful. Well the search is over. Custom mixed to the exact color I want. Covers gray and leaves my hair looking great. And now I can even she my hair in the middle of the night if I want rather than when I can get an appointment. The only down side is I don't get to see the girls at the salon.

After seeing a picture of myself at Easter I said boy look at all that gray. I look so old for 51 I saw the eSalon ad watched video and ordered color. Was here before I knew it and I did have 1 question so I called [it was the week-end too] my question was answered and I got package a few days later. Read things over which was pretty easy to follow. I did my coloring alone so had to make sure I got back good. My only mistake was that dye remover I got some in my hair , next time I have to be more careful. everything else went only as pack read. I would TOTALLY recommend this Custom Hair Color 100%

I had professional highlights over my natural light brown hair and wanted to go back to my natural color as my highlights had grown out a bit. I have far too busy of a work schedule to go into the salon so I purchased from Esalon. I was quite nervous that I would have a green hue in my hair by dying over the highlights but I was confident that my colorist Vanessa would formulate the hair color to avoid that result. I received my package and dyed my hair last night. I am very happy with the results although it is quite a bit darker than I wanted it. She sent me light brown and my hair is very dark brown right now although I'm sure it will fade after a couple of washes. No green hue and the color is pretty even! My hair does feel a bit processed now but I am hoping to reverse that with a couple of hair masks. :) I also bought the toning shampoo for the second time as I loved it the first time!

I've been coloring my hair myself for years, but within the last 2 years the products I used didn't color the all of my gray. Finally found a product that is much cheaper than the salon. Love that it covers all and lasts until there is new growth!

Got the hair color kit and it was kind of overwhelming at first as there was a separate bottle for roots and another for rest of the hair. But the results were amazing and much much better than when I had it done at hair salon. The mahogany touch was very beautiful and hair felt so soft and healthy! Hooked for life!

I love this hair color! Perfect color and wonderful included accessories (ie gloves, stain remover & stain guard). The only down side to my review would be the time it takes to be delivered (approx 1 week).

This company is very reliable and sends me my product when requested. Their emails about shipping and making color changes makes things very convenient. My onlly complaint is that when I requested that my shade of medium dark brown contain less of a reddish color, I didn't see any changes.

I am almost to my original copper penny hair color. I used a color remover before using this product and hope by the next round it will remove the pinkish hue. I had such a hard time finding my real hair color and had to have a dark fake maroon almost color which I then became fed up and added punk red to it. It was beautiful but I am craving my real color. I found this link on Pinterest and I am sold! I love the custom color and the extra care they put into the creation of my package. I am a forever customer! Please do not change a thing. I am SO CLOSE to my natural red hair color! How exciting

What I love most about this color is that you got it so close to my natural color that you can't even see the root regrowth. The color is beautiful. My only complaint is that it washed out a little too easily with the first one. So I will see how long this application lasts. But loved it even as it lightened.

I was growing out previous hair color and had tried a do it yourself box of L'Oréal dark blonde...yeah I knew better as esalon has never let me down in the past. So I placed an order and my colorist Leianna called me personally to get more details about what I had last used on my hair etc. when I received my color this time there were two separate colors for my roots and the rest of my hair ...I'm not a hair stylist I was a little worried I couldn't do this myself, but I just carefully went through the steps and tried to remember that I was in good hands with my own color expert. It came out better than I'd expected, zero damage to the hair I've been judiciously trying to grow out the last three months. I am blessed with thick hair, however, when I began to gray, it almost seemed like a curse, finding color that could give good gray coverage was impossible! Until now, I have found this perfect new color that has incredible gray coverage. A must have for anyone who is having problems with difficult grays.

.I was very skeptical to try a hair color I had seen on Facebook. I had my first Professional Real Estate headshots in a little over a week and the other brands were lightning my grays so that it looked lighter than the rest of my hair but never fully masked it or made it all match and I wasn't happy with how long the true color stayed. E-salon covered my grays and all my hair has the same color. It included everything I needed in the kit including gloves, shampoo, conditioner, a mixing bowl, and brush. The instructions were easy to follow and the color looks amazing and my headshots turned out wonderful and I have had many compliments on my hair color. Thanks, from a truly satisfied customer.

I love the color. I had no patchy darker or lighter spots like I did with my Wella color. My roots always looked okay with wella but the rest of my hair always seemed to have a quite dark undertone. I don't know how to explain it. I am going to do my best to try to afford your product every month. I live on Social Security and it never increases, so I may have to stop.

I have dyed my hair for years now , and around two years ago I decided I wanted red hair. Ever since I have used boxed colour and it faded really quickly and my ends were always a different tone to the roots. I came across esalon by chance as it popped up as an ad. So i went into it had a look around and decided I would test their claims. So I went through what I wanted what my hair is like now etc. I was given a stylist and she made my colour. One for roots one for lengths. It arrived , so easy to apply and washed out well. It does have a strong chemical smell however the result is worth it. I have asked for an adjustment on my colour for roots and this was done immediately and I approved it . I just wanted a little more red added. My colour is multi dimensional, super shiny, soft and the coverage iis brilliant. It has coloured evenly and my friends actually asked where I had my hair done! I love this and will continue to use forever! The colour used is salon grade so it takes and covers brilliantly. A very very satisfied and happy customer! If you want amazing colour , go on , give it a go! 😺

I was over proccessed with highlights and I think the beautician actually pulled out some of my hair. It was fuzzy and brittle. Now it looks healthy and that bald spot seems to be much better, maybe gone.

I used this product for the first time last night and it was simple enough to do. SUPER happy with the color and the fact that it didn't make my ends WAY darker than the roots like normal drug store boxed color does. I am basically coloring my hair my natural color just trying to cover a few grey strands. I can't say I'm pleased with that result. My grey looks like blond now and not grey, but I'm guessing it's going to wash out quickly and that doesn't make me happy.

Very satisfied with the products! However, I think I took too long to apply the color so it turned a bit dark and the gray turned kind of reddish instead of golden.
I do have problems with my scalp and hope to find a product that will not cause my scalp to itch!

Rather than going to a hairdresser and ending up with the color they think you want, I can use my own hair color and have more control over how dark my hair looks.

The colour is good and I've had compliments on it. The system also was good and although I prefer foam for application, I can get used to cream.
The only thing I have to see is how long the colour lasts to be able to judge its value for me.

It's been many many yrs since I've had any color in my hair so it was very important to me that this color be a slight change not something too drastic. I have dark blonde hair that has lost its sheen and looks almost dirty blondish-grey. I wanted a slight change to make it more dark golden blonde without so much dirty-grey tone. After answering questions, choosing colors, describing (probably over-describing) exactly what I was looking for and up loading photos of me w/my current natural color I was still very skeptical some so called colorist, however far away, would be able to send me exactly what I asked for. Nevertheless, when I received it I was determined to more forward with my choice to color my hair. Since it had been so long I'd done this myself, I had my sister apply it for me. The kit is very easy and comes with everything you need (except for clips to section hair with). After all was complete and my new color was dried and styled, I was simply amazed how perfect the color is; it is to the tee of what I described and asked for! We are always the toughest critics of ourselves and how we look - I tend to be a real perfectionist. And for me to even be sharing a review is s huge deal; I rarely ever do, even if the product is decent. However I am so pleased with this product and service, and you really can't beat the cost (at least to try it), I felt compelled to share my experience about eSalon. If I do decide to continue coloring my hair I will most definitely be ordering from them.

It doesn't turn my hair red after a few washings! I have tried every brand of hair color and they don't hold my color it turns red I have naturally drark brown but they all turned red! Now I have alot of gray It covers well! and don't turn red! my picture has some gray on the sides that was intensional!

The color came out less orange, and is a much better color. But I think I'm looking more for a red on the cool side.. that's how it was explained long ago to me. I love your kits and the convenience. Also yours is the only color I've ever had that does not run off on pillows the first night.. even salon colors did that! So let me know what you think I might like a little more. Thanks

I didn't know what to expect after trying every colour manufacturer under the sun for my increasing grey hair invasion. I have nearly black hair so regrowth happens quickly... I thought until finding e salon. I have learned that the colours I have used haven't "attached" well to my (grey) hair and I was touching up after only a week. Not with e salon... I am now well into week 2.

I felt that my hair had become somewhat drab. Since I do not wear makeup, it is important that my hair brings some enthusiasm to my face. As always, the color was easy to apply and the end product did enliven me quite a bit. I am happy with the result.
