I love the color. It comes out a warm, golden brown with some red tones. I am still have trouble getting it to cover the gray well. Especially around my face and the crown of my head.

One half sleepy morning i succumbed to a facebook advertisement and followed the instruction to getting my custom color. three days later this package arrived at my door. had completely forgotten about it! once i opened it up and saw the explicit instructions, i knew that maybe I should've paid more attention to the quiz that previous morning.
coloring is simple when you follow the instructions. everything is marked well and organized neatly. i was a little skeptical about the secondary color for my ends but followed the timing.
i have a lot of hair and it is very long. got great coverage with both color sets. easy to apply, time and wash out. follow the tips!
rinsing and shampooing/conditioning was easier than most at home jobs too.
once dry i see that perhaps i should've been a little more specific with my color tones. it's a shade or two too mahogany and while it blends in nicely with my ends, i'm going to wait a day or two for it to settle to see how the roots end up. i think that my dissatisfaction stems from my inability to articulate what it is that i want. i'm hopeful to see if i can get it right next time around.
overall it's a beautiful colouring system and i look forward to continuing my use of it.

Have been using e-salon color for about 1 year now. Good quality color. Price is reasonable, and you don't have to go shopping! Products are delivered right to your door. After several applications I requested a change in my color, which they did ( though I did not notice any change from previous color) but color is still good.
I am basically happen with e-salon. Just wish they had ways to do highlights or other additions to their color shades.

As a lifelong salon client for colouring, personal changes meant I just couldn't afford to use a salon any more but the off the shelf products were so disappointing... colour faded very very quickly and was never true to what I thought it would be. The eSalon system is just fantastic, I love the colour, the product was easy to use AND was long lasting, just as good as a salon product. I'm so impressed with the service and approach of eSalon both online and when you ring the helpline - 5 stars all the way!!

I really like this hair color and I like that it can be changed up (more red, less red, etc.) It does fade a little fast though, but I live in Florida and have not found any hair color that can hold up to the sun here.

I have always used copper coloured hair dyes but found so many to be too bright or too red. eSalon listens to what you want and makes fine tuned adjustments to exactly the shade you want. I will never look anywhere else to buy colourant.

IT matches so much better(!!!) with the natural"washed-out" or "faded shade" my hair became between colorings.
Actually, due to my recent illness; I've fallen almost 4 weeks behind in coloring my hair versus when you sent the latest (new color) to me. This is why I could NOT GIVE a reply about "if I liked the new color" UNTIL I actually USED IT. I'M PROUD TO SAY I finally COMPLETED using the NEWEST COLOR ... EARILER TODAY - AND the NEW color matches much, much better (without) such a drastic change, as previously color. I must ask...does this customized lighter shade have any "ASH TONES" in it? Within my house it seems I see (the smallest) amount of a 'Greenish tint'. BUT, please do not worry, I will check USING Outdoor (natural) light tomorrow, I'm sure it will be fine! I will drop a line if I notice something. Thank you very much! It's a good feeling to know that one can expect the SAME quality results with YOUR PRODUCTS upon each color.
May I plz ask that my next order be delayed an additional two weeks. Due to my recent illness, as I said above, I've fallen way behind w/the current schedule, would be the correct way to say it!

I apologize for the delay in replying to your question, hopefully you now better understand. It's nice to know...each time I color, it will be so very close to the previous. Luckily I found esalon not long after my first do it yourself dye job! I didn't the the store bought color, it was flat and did not last as long as I was led to believe. ESalon, not only fashioned a color just for me, I don't feel like my hair is colored. My natural color was a brown with red highlights. In the summer it got redder if I spent time outside. So to go to a flat color was not natural for me. I LOVE my color and gloss. It makes me feel like me!

A friend recommended ESalon after frustration with inconsistent over the counter results and too pricey salon experiences led to Internet research and finding ESalon.
I've always had thick healthy Hispanic hair but now in my 40s fast growing hair means fast growing greys as well and over coloring my coffee brown hair was turning it black no matter what I did.
I ordered a beautiful medium brown with gold highlights from ESalon and at first got lovely brown roots and reverse ombré black ends.
I called ESalon for help and they explained that adding color over color deposits SO often saturated my hair with color eventually getting darker and darker until my longest (therefore oldest) hair became black no matter which shade I tried.
The ESalon color technician recommended a clarifying shampoo on my darker hair to try to remove old color before applying new color. (I also found a color removal product that removes color buildup leaving my hair ready for the shimmering rich ESalon color)
I also followed the advice of putting my color on roots Only then putting the rest of color on only at the end of the process.
I've received a lot of compliments on the color vibrancy, the bounce and shine of my hair.

I have been using the same formula for awhile now and I love how my hair color always looks the same! I hated how store bought brands would vary form bottle to bottle, I don't think I ever got the same results (evening making sure to buy exactly the same brand/color mixture)!

I've used department store hair coloring since I began coloring my hair 22 years ago. Mainly due to the high cost of a professional hair color appointment just wasn't within my budget. But also because of the convenience of coloring in the privacy of my own home.

I feel the root color was a lot different than the end color. I loved the end color more than the root color. I also feel that I wasted a lot by throwing out the left over hair color. Think that they should come in smaller bottles so you can really pass the savings on too your customer. Overall I think that its a great product!!

I'd only colored my hair a few times before in my life, and that was 20 years ago. But I'm a teacher, and I'm graying rapidly (guess why, ha ha...). I find that I need to color more frequently each year. However, I simply cannot afford to go to a salon every 6-8 weeks. I briefly considered letting myself go all silver, but at age 48, I don't quite feel ready.
So I decided to try eSalon. I am not big on hawking products, but I was absolutely blown away with how well this setup works. I have thick but very fine, silky hair, I wear it about shoulder length, and I'm about 60% gray. My hair took the color extremely well, the process was easy and clear, I didn't need to do or buy anything beyond what was in the kit, and the quality of color is at least as good as what I'd been getting at twice to five times the price in salons. I followed the directions to the letter, and everything came out wonderfully. Best of all, I'm sitting here writing this review and I am not overwhelmed by the pungent stink of my own hair.
I consider myself a serious "beauty dummy." I don't wear makeup and don't spend a lot of time fussing over myself past applying moisturizer and sunscreen. I even had trouble separating my hair into sections--that's how useless I am. But I am sold on this product. The well-written instructions make it easy, the color looks great, and I can afford to continue to do it over the long term.

I switched to eSalon after deciding I needed to curb my spending. I was spending $65.00 at the salon every 6 weeks (just for a single color!) and it was really getting to be too much. I read a few reviews and saw a few ads for eSalon and decided to give it a shot. When my first kit arrived, I was really excited, but also really nervous because I had never colored my own hair before. I was really impressed with my eSalon kit because it comes with EVERYTHING: the gloves, the color safe shampoo and conditioner, stain guard, and explicit directions. I've colored my hair three times now with eSalon and have no plans of stopping. I love how you have the ability to adjust your color as needed and upload pictures of yourself to show your colorist what you look like and what color you are trying to achieve. I also appreciate that there is a "plan" designed for your specific needs. For example: the first kit had me color my entire head (which turned out a bit darker than I expected, but this was my first time coloring my own hair), but the directions for the next kit reminded me to just focus on the roots, since my main goal for coloring my hair is to hide my gray roots. I'm trying to convince all my friends and family to become eSalon customers since it is so awesome and easy!!!

So I've used this product for a couple of months now, in which now I feel I can give an honest review. The first time I used it, my hair was soft and manageable, not stringy and dry like others I've used in the past. My 3rd request was letting eSalon know that I have dye resistant areas at the crown of my head and so they adjusted the formula accordingly and it did well and held, but the color kind of faded out, however it held the silver strands back. Therefore, I do recommend this product and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I really didn't believe you could send in a photo and have someone at a distance develop a hair color for me that I absolutely love. After the first color arrived, I asked that the second time they lighten it more on the golden brown side. They did, and I love my hair color. You should give it a try.

I cannot tell you how happy I am with my Hair coloring kit from eSalon. I didn't know what to expect, and I truly was not very hopeful, considering my prior experiences with internet companies. But eSalon DELIVERS on their promises!
First some background: I have lots of gray at the scalp, (an inch or so over my whole head), so my favorite color, bright red, does not last long; maybe 3 weeks. So I was using more of an ash color with reddish tones, (I do my own hair), almost a strawberry blonde. However, the last two times that I used a box color, the SAME formula I had used for over a year, my hair came out dark with HINTS of auburn; NOT the color on the box or what I had always gotten using this brand. I tried another brand and the same thing happened. So I decided to try eSalon, which I had been contemplating for over a year now.
I sent pictures to them and after going over them, they offered a color I might like. I asked for a couple of adjustments and then I liked what they offered the second time around. They wisely told me that they could not give me the lighter, strawberry blond, that I asked for because of how dark my hair was at that time. However, they told me that they would work toward that color with each successive color they would send.
Well, I LOVE the color they sent! And it lasted pretty long - 6 weeks, which for me is pretty darn good!
Let me tell you one more thing I like about eSalon: They never send you anything you don't want, or without telling you. When the time of my touch-up came along, they emailed me beforehand - they didn't just send it automatically! Kudos to you eSalon!!! All of the internet companies that I have dealt with, do this, which is why I was so hesitant to try eSalon. I have tried three which were totally disappointing and unethical in my mind and I have heard and read this many times on Facebook and when searching Google.
Can't wait for my next shipment!!!

I could never find my natural color in the store (dark strawberry blonde). It was either too blonde or too bright a red. The stylist at eSalon mixed a color that was perfect and looked natural, not fake. Costs a little more than store bought color, but well worth it!

I decided to give this a try because of the half-price offer. It was still more than I normally pay for store-bought hair colour (especially with the postage from the USA) but it seemed like something I ought to try at least once. I don't like other people touching my hair so after my first dye-job around 1987 I have done it myself but I thought it would be good to use a salon quality colourant.
I was able to select exactly the colour I wanted which was (very) black with a blue tint. That is what I got. You are also given the option to tweak the colour before your next batch is sent. I was happy with the colour so I did not do this but it's nice to have the option. With the dye you are given the choice of using a bottle or a brush (which is also provided). There is a pre-treatment and a post-treatment conditioner in the pack as well, and two pairs of gloves so that you can put some more dye in your hair in the shower before rinsing.
Despite 30 years of dyeing my hair its condition is still pretty soft but with eSalon I found that it was even softer than when I used store-bought dye and the softness lasted longer. My hair did go a bit reddish eventually but I'm sure that's to do with my hair and not the dye. I was happy enough with the colour and it seemed to last a bit longer, too.
I'd recommend at least trying this the once. I am going to become a regular customer despite the added cost.

The process was exactly the same as the box color from the store. Only with better quality. Would have preferred something closer to the photographs I sent in but I did appreciate that my survey and pictures were actually looked at when formulating the color. Customer service has been top notch. Will definitely order again.

Okay, so probably it's about the same as salon color--but I can do this myself in the comfort of my own home at a tiny fraction of the cost. I apply it to my roots every three weeks and never have to suffer a half-inch of gray just because I can't fit in the time with my stylist.

I had to start coloring my hair at age 18 due to gray hair. I have done every color, but I stayed for years as brunette. When I was totally gray I changed to blond through my hairdresser. She moved so I tried a few "over the counter" brands. Finally finding eSalon. I am now 69 and even my new hairdresser tells me how beautiful my hair is. Thanks eSalon.

I absolutely love the eSalon custom color. I filled out all my information and sent my picture. I received an email almost immediately advising a change in the requested color after the consultant reviewed my picture and details. They were spot on. I have used my color several times. I even stopped and returned to the salon for a few times. After paying $150.00 for my color and cut a few times I discovered I wasn't any happier having this service than doing the color myself. So I went back to eSalon. I again discovered that I love the eSalon color. My hair color is flawless. Your hair is healthy looking and the shine is amazing.

I've never dyed my hair myself, so I was pretty uneasy about doing this. My last couple of salon experiences were major failures. After spending $100+ each visit, I decided, for the price of Made For You, I'd give it a go myself. I couldn't believe how easy it was. The instructions were easy to follow for a newbie, helping to make my first time on my own a success. It's been two months now and the color still looks great. Compared to 2 weeks when the "professional" did it. I feel comfortable recommending this product to others and will definitely use again.

I've been getting my hair colored for 10+ years, and I used to pay over $100 every 6-8 weeks. Not anymore! The color kit I get from eSalon is EXACTLY what my hair stylist used: custom color and developer. You even get gloves and stain remover wipes! Now I can color my hair when it's convenient for me at a fraction of the cost. And I do a careful and thorough job since I'm doing it myself. When getting my hair done at salons, sometimes I would feel rushed and not sure I was getting a quality job. The color is AMAZING. No one knows I color my own hair -- the color is THAT GOOD. I love the product, it gives me shiny, beautifully colored hair every time. The shampoo and conditioner are also very nice. My only issues are excess packaging, supplies and shipping. I never use the stain stop and stain removal products, because I don't need them, and really only require one pair of gloves, not two. I also wonder if it would be possible to have more product shipped at once to save on shipping costs.

I gave a description of my hair .. which decided to give me a narrow ring around my face ONLY of almost white ...only a light touch of the salt and pepper type thing the rest of my head . gave the color by Loreal used previously before I began trying to switch to Argan oil but could not get the right color ... added it could be just a touch more red... Brittany nailed it spot on and I am happy with my hair colot again. I wanted away from the harsh chemicals of OTC haircolor as my hair is very long and it was very abrasive ... it was a long journey to find it ... but I could not be more happy when I look in the mirror these days ... the multi tones .. the shine.. PERFECT HAIRCOLOR
