I really like the color match. When I purchase hair color from the store I can never quite get it right. It’s either too cool or pulls red. If I go neutral it looks too mousy. This color was like it was matched to the color of my youth.

So at first I was a little dubious about whether or not I should give this eSalon colour a go, so I did a bit of research - reviews and YouTube videos etc, and from what I read and watched it seemed that the overall opinion was good, so given the fact it was 50% off for first time buyers I decided to take the plunge and try it. My hair is just above shoulder length and prior to using this colour I had a balayage meaning my hair had a fair amount of blonde in it (Im naturally dark), so given this fact I ordered a slightly darker colour because I knew it would fade. The package arrived quickly and was very neatly presented in its box. It was simple to use (no different to your shop box colour) and the colour was gorgeous. To be honest I was very impressed! My hair tends to feel dry and dull when using box colours (like a straw feeling), but this colour was just like a salon colour, soft, silky and shiny, and it only faded slightly too, where as the box colours I tend to find fade fairly quick. I am honestly so impressed with this colour and will definitley be purchasing it again!!

I ordered my initial color at a discount to try the product. They sent 2 bottle to ensure full coverage. I used as instructed and hated the color! I left it for about a week, thinking I just needed to adjust to it and it would be fine. A caveat being, this is only my second time coloring my hair ever in my 30+ years. So anyway, about a week in and I decide I can't wait, i do not like how my hair looks and can't wait until my next order in 2 months. I called the service number and spoke with a rep. She told me what I need to do first (take pics in natural light so they can see the color and identify what changes to make). I took the pics, replied to the email, and got a call back within the hour! We talked about what I wanted and what I didn't want, and they are making a whole new formula for me, free of charge, because I wasn't satisfied! I'm so excited to get my new color and try again. This will keep me coming back and will make me totally recommend to others! Bravo!
I will update (or review a second time) once I recieve the new color and can try it out!
I am editing this post as of March 12th.
The new color esalon sent me is beautiful. My hair is still healthy. I waited a while to write the review to see if my hair would fade and it hasn't. I recieved my new color quickly, the directions were tailor made again to ensure full color coverage, and I am very happy with my results overall. I would and have recommended esalon to others.

I love the way it is personalized just for me. Not the results I wanted but I will continue working with my stylist to get where I want to be color wise. Easy to apply, but does have a strong chemical smell.

Die Haarfarbe ist sehr satt und gleichmäßig geworden. Der Ton ist so wie ich ihn haben wollte, was schwierig war, da mir die Haarfarbe im Vorfeld beim Friseur versaut wurde. Erst den Ansatz gefärbt, dann die Längen mit unterschiedlichen Tönen, um ein einheitliches Ergebnis zu erzielen. Wurde von eSalon gut umgesetzt, die Farbe ist stimmig. Bin sehr zufrieden, zumal ich mit dem Ergebnis nicht gerechnet hätte.

Hi...I enjoy using this product but each time I mix it I think that I wish the cream bottle opening could easily accommodate the color bottle. The the 2 bottles being of similar but different size, you cant insert the color bottle into the cream bottle to assist in getting all of the color formula. That would be a nice convenience.

Auch wenn der starke Ammoniakgeruch beim Färben sehr in den Augen gebissen hat und mich das beim Färben sehr verunsichert hat, muss ich doch sagen, dass die Farbe weder aggressiv zur Haut, Kopfhaut oder den Haaren war. Die Anleitung ist "idiotensicher" beschrieben und doch hätte ich mir mal vorher die ganzen tollen Anleitungsvideos hier auf der Homepage anschauen sollen, um noch Tricks und Kniffe zum Färben z.B. grauer Ansätze zu bekommen. Ich gebe zu, das habe ich bei meinem 1. Färbeversuch noch nicht ganz so optimal hinbekommen. Beim nächsten Mal klappt das sicher besser. Das Farbergebnis war trotzdem unglaublich schön und so natürlich, dass es tatsächlich meinem Naturrotton aus jungen Jahren sehr,sehr nahe kommt. Das hatte ich noch nie bei einer Coloration. Ich wollte meinen Naturton zurück, da meine Haare jetzt mit den Jahren leider immer heller werden und ich denke das ist sehr gut gelungen. Danke dafür. Ich werde ganz sicher wieder bestellen.

Die Haarfarbe ist gut und schnell geliefert worden. Die Farbe ist für meine Tochter gedacht und entspricht ihren Wünschen, könnte allerdings mehr die Haare glänzen lassen. Geruchsempfindlich darf man während des färbens nicht sein....Im großen und ganzen ist meine Tochter zufrieden , Sternabzug wegen Geruch und fehlendem Glanz.

Ich habe das Set als kostenlose Nachlieferung bekommen, da mein Ansatz die letzte Färbung nicht richtig angenommen hatte. Nun bin ich aber zu 98% zufrieden! Das Einzige Manko ist, dass meine Haare etwas strohig nach dieser Färbung waren. Das reichte die Spülung nicht aus! Ansonsten supi!

First time user - the color turned out beautiful and even with all my grays, it has lasted at least twice as long as the OTC brands I had been using. I can't wait to try the highlights! Plus they confirmed the products are cruelty free, which is a deal breaker for me.

Die Farbe ist sehr schön geworden. Die Produkte machen einen guten Eindruck und riechen angenehm. Die Beschreibung war beim letzten Schritt etwas verwirrend aber grundsätzlich hat alles prima geklappt.

Although it was VERY tough to wash the color out of my hair, the color was beautiful! I received so many compliments! Called customer service to ask about the difficulty in washing it out and they were super helpful!!

My experience with ESalon has been great. I do the temporary color, and it always comes out looking very natural no matter the formula I've done. Unfortunately, it doesn't cover gray well, but again, I use the temporary color. That may be different with permanent.

I was a bit confused directions ,as it said to apply to roots only and not through the rest of my hair ,as this is my first time using the product, if i applied it to roots only my hair would be two entirly different colours 🤔

It was easy to use and should be more reliable than box color. Love that they gave me a brush so I could get my hairline better. Only downside was they (thoughtfully) sent me a color for my ends that didn’t have brown in it. That scared me that I would screw it up so I waited to color my hair until after I got it cut so I only used the main color. It’s not on them at all but just me not wanting to risk screwing it up.

This color faded before my first color... so have had to use the tiny ringers to keep it up... not crazy about that... looking to switch to something else... but otherwise, it’s a great looking color..a bit too red-purple for my taste.

I found it easy to color my hair with salon color kit. I love how my hair feels, not dry or damaged. I do wish the color was a little lighter but other than that I love my hair and the product .

The color set that is specific to my needs have worked out wonderfully. The initial order setup was a shade too dark. After working with the team, my color setup for the 2nd time around worked out wonderfully.

It was very easy to use and I liked the products very much, however color was too dark for me. I think it may have been error on my end however, I am going to look into a highlight kit to adjust.

I followed the instructions ended up with a little too much of a copper color in my crown than I was looking for. Overall not a bad experience. I had quit coloring my hair at home but saw this and thought I would try it one more time I'm not sure I will do it again? My hair has too much tendency to look reddish, I think I need to stick with my colorist.

The color came out a bit darker than I usually dye it, but I absolutely love it and my hair is super shiny! I requested no red tones and my colorist nailed it. I wish I had found this website a lot sooner.

(Just not pleased with the color even after last request to have it changed. Not trying to be difficult... but I want an ASH BLONDE - not a yellow blonde. It's a shame, because I do like the product... but I hate the color.)
To be honest and 'fair'... I am upping my rating for eSalon... I do like their product much better than Madison Reid, which I had tried before... So I want to clarify...
While I have not been happy with the 'color', (too golden, not enough ash) the quality of the product is exceptional. I love that my hair is still soft after coloring.. the product itself is not harsh AT ALL on my (normally dry) hair and its smells nice. My colorist has contacted me about adjusting the color again and I will also say that they are GREAT about responding very quickly and providing good solid customer service. I really appreciate that. I've decided to give it another go, and hopefully the third run will be the charm! Because I really do like the product itself, if I can get it in the right color.

Über das Farbergebnis bin ich zufrieden. Beim nächsten Mal würde ich jedoch eine Nuance heller bevorzugen, da ich bei jeder Färbung das Problem habe, dass die Untere Haarpartie viel dunkler wird als die obere. Leider habe ich entweder auf die Barrierecreme oder auf das Haarfarbeentfernertuch allergisch reagiert. Ich weiß nicht, ob das schon öfters vorgekommen ist, bei anderen Kunden aber evtl. Ist es eine wertvolle Information.
Im großen und ganzen bin ich über das Farbergebnis jedoch zufrieden.

The kit arrived on time, was easy to set up and use and had a nice color match. My only reason for 4 stars vs 5 is that I have hard to cover grey and this didn't do the trick. Some of those pesky roots still show through. Will try again because I like the simplicity of mail delivery and custom color.

I loved the color and the way it comes, I was really impressed by the presentation of the product, perfect in every detail .
I have no talent for DIY then I found really complicated to die the back part of my hair.
The only thing I would complain is the smell, it’s a bit stronger then the one I am used to.
I’m hoping that the color last long because it’s lovely.

Being a natural strawberry blonde who lived with black hair for 15 years... pitch black... I started the long tiring scary journey of trying to get the black out. I had no expectations or specific color in mind when I started I just knew I wanted warmth. I used hair color remover once and ended up with patchy brassy orange blonde and bleach blonde mix. I was expecting this and was just happy the black was gone.
I used a semi-permanent strawberry blonde just to try to even out the brassy and patchiness. It worked ok but my roots went overly dark and as did the bottom of my hair. But it still looked ok so I left it for a while.
I ordered eSalon hoping for the best. And I am absolutely ecstatic with the results.... the color is a nice version of my natural color a little darker which I like and a ton of dimension AND no brassiness and no red... the colour they created neutralized the orange/red that was overtaking my hair.
The whole package - the little things like a roots vs ends bottle and the conditioner ... its a high level salon experience in the comfort of your own home and for a fraction of the cost.

I liked my new colour and the coverage it gave me. The only reason this review is not a five star is because I thought it may be lighter, but I asked my colour stylist if they could slightly change my next order and they were so helpful and knowledgeable.

The color doesn’t last. By the second wash it is coming out. It never happens on the initial formula but subsequent bottles are for roots and ends and therefore it washes right out.

I have dyed my hair with over the counter products for years and it always takes a few weeks and a deep conditioning treatment for my hair to recover after use but this left my hair soft.

Was completely satisfied except for my roots where my grey was showing. Color turned out great but grey cover up was a quite a bit lighter. Was a copper color & rest of hair was drk brown/mahogany/violet. Was looking for more violet than the mahogany because my hair turns more reddish no matter what color I try. Like the dark color, almost a plumb/ violet with the darkness of the dark brown as well.
