I really love my color, and so does everyone else, even my stylist. I have mentioned before that the actual volume of product is a little on the skimpy side (my hair went a couple inches past the shoulder). Since I have cut my hair to the clavicle, it's not a problem anymore, but I think there should be options on how much color you buy, according to the length of hair. The only thing I regret is that there are no self highlighting products. I have to buy it separately at the store, and it shouldn't be that expensive, and it contains too much product for just being highlights. eSalon should sell a $5 highlighting kit with a realistic amount of product. It shouldn't be the same amount as the full color kit, which is what I'm finding on the shelf. eSalon has the potential for improved sales/customer service that they isn't being fulfilled.

I was very hesitant to try eSalon, but a dear friend had recommended it (she's been using it for a very long time). I have very short hair - pixie style, am a natural woody-brown with intermixed gray, and have had it bleached platinum for a couple of years. Recently I decided to use a box color (have done this most of my life) to make a drastic change, so I chose a box color of deep purplish-auburn. It lasted for about 2 shampoos and then began to fade drastically! I looked like an orange creamsicle within 2 weeks =( So my friend gently nudged me toward eSalon again, and I decided I was failing miserably doing it myself, and didn't want to pay the horrendous amount a salon would charge.... so I completed the easy, short eSalon questionnaire, uploaded a picture of my current hair color, and was very happy with how easy it was! The next day I received a personalized email from my eSalon stylist offering professional suggestions on how to reach my ultimate hair color goal and that was it! I received my personalized kit in about a week and it was awesome! Personalized instructions, everything you could possibly need to color your own hair, and the results were excellent! Did I mention the products don't reek like an ammonia factory? And my hair is soft as kitty fur???? Love this!!!!! Don't be a scared rebel like me - you will definitely love these people and their products!

I use to use store color and it was okay but my hair was getting damaged and dry. This color is always spot on and my hair is much shinier and healthier.

Took me a few tries to get the shade right (my hair is medium brown and pulls red like a maniac also I'm overrun with greys at the tender age of38) BUT esalon colorists patiently worked with me and we got it! The dye holds up to shampoos (grateful they send both a skin barrier & color remover for drips and when go off hairline!) The only downside is I feel a little bad for my mailman having to cart it to me lol!

This product is absolutely wonderful. I'm glad I discovered it. Only one problem, if someone was very thick and very long hair, like I do, there isn't enough. I really have to skimp when touching up or doing my whole head.

I bought this hair color for a great 6 week hair color. The first order I got I loved the color but the grey hair didn't cover that great. I let them know and they changed the formula and now it's beautiful color from roots to ends. A box of hair color at a drug store is over priced. This hair color is slightly more but well worth the price.

Even though I love this product more than any other product or salon, I only gave four stars because I wish the color on my gray roots will stay longer. But other than that no other complaints. Great product for your money, soft hair after the coloring, shipment is on time and flexibility of order change.

Color and coverage on MOST areas was good but I'm still having trouble getting the resistant gray around the temples
to take. I had received advice from a color expert at eSalon (for the 2nd time) saying to increase time for processing and also using a 15 developer (rather than the 20 they recommended the first time) but I'm considering canceling the auto ship for my next order.

The first color they mix for me felt a little off, although I got a ton of complements. I made a quick call to them, they fixed it for me, now I'm in love. My hair looks so healthy, and the color is spot on.

Like everything about this hair color except the smell. I have been taking it to my salon and having my grey grow out highlighted with it to soften the impact of growing out my copper hair to it's current natural grey.

Medium brown with a touch of gold; I was pleased with the outcome of this permanent color; when applied it was a little strong in smell and it slightly tingled my scalp. I colored my hair April 18th, it'll be 4 weeks on Monday May 16th, it has started to fade. I will try the product again.

I really like using eSalon. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because I would like my hair a little lighter and I notified them for my next shipment. Also, I wish they offered shipping options, i.e. UPS or FedEx. I live in a fairly remote area and USPS takes forever to deliver my mail compared to the other two delivery services.

My color lasts about 4 weeks then starts to fade. I think I need to go one shade darker. I probably have 15% grey, especially around the hairline. My normal hair color is a light dishwater blond. I would like the color to last longer.

This product is superior in every avenue, it proves to be cost effective. The color is soft and alluring. The feel is a soft and natural healthy feel. Box color has never worked correctly on my hair. It turns black or orange and then the roots show within 2 weeks. This product is easy to apply and covers my roots until new growth appears. The color is never brassy, even when it' getting close to the time to reapply. Worth every penny!

My only complaint is the cost now. It seems high. Then again I order every 10 to 12 weeks (I let roots grow out, and hair grow in between for health reasons) so on average I probably spent more every 4 weeks at retail. I like convenience.

My only complaint is my hair is not as soft as I would like after it is colored with esalon. Grey hair around my face doesn't come back as quickly as other products, but unfortunately does come back!

I Really didn't like the colour i received at first i even cancelled my order but after a few days the colour seemed to settle (lighten) to the colour i wanted, it felt dry and horrible just after colouring but after the first wash it felt great, i have really long hair so the shampoo and conditioner packets that were sent are not big enough, maybe why it felt dry, overall the service and colour you receive for the money you pay is great!!

The custom hair color is a good product, it does not damage hair and the color is nice and long lasting. The only problem is that it does no cover greys very well.

I was delighted that even though I received 2 custom colors, they were actually different, a separate color for the roots and ends.... Wow!! I gave 1 less star bc I didn't receive the coloring kit that was advertised, just the application brush, and the smell was overwhelming...

One thing I can definitely say is the hair color from esalon really covers the grey hair. I had been buying store bought hair color for many years and would find that it really didn't do a good job coloring my greys. This hair dye 95% of the time has colored all of my grey.

So this is my first time ordering from here and my first time reviewing anything online at all. The color I received was beautiful, I did want a little more purple in the dye then I got but its still a very pretty color. the application was different than most box dyes I've used which was not a bad thing at all. The only negative thing I could say about this is that I wish they would add a smell to it to decrease the chemical smell, like how most box dyes do. The reason I'm writing this review was because the sample shampoo that was sent with the product was AMAZING!! I don't normally like fruity shampoo's but this one made my mouth water it smelled so good! I just bought the bottle on here strictly for the smell of the shampoo (by the way the shampoo was heart lock it). It also made my hair feel pretty good considering I just dyed it. For the $15 cost of the shampoo I think it's worth it, especially when you do the match up :)

I liked the color very much, but the amount of time it lasted was not what I expected. I only had it in two weeks and the gray started to reappear at the temples...other than that it was fine and easy to follow.

My first applicatiion turned out great! I have medium fine hair and one order will cover two applications. I had to throw away most of the 1st step because it was too much.

I had said I wanted my color a little lighter, and the response was to color only the roots for the 35 min. Usually the color lasts & covers the grey for 6 weeks. Using the method suggested my grey is showing up after weeks. I will resume the method used previously. I live this product otherwise.

Quality product color is a good match. It doesn't cover my grey as good as getting it done professionally in the salon and it's more drying so I've added protein hair care products to my line up. As far as the grey coverage I'm not sure what to do still contemplating thus the 4 stars

I love the color kit I get. The only thing that is difficult is washing it out. Sometimes it feels very thick on my scalp. The results are great so worth the extra washing effort.

The hair color was a little darker than I wanted but it lasted longer than they say it will, I had to extend my delivery date from 10 weeks to 12 weeks because there wasn't any grey after 10.

This color was a change from my usual array of blonde I've used over the last 30+ yrs. I decided to go for a new, brighter, but not lighter, strawberry blonde color (which my daughter has naturally). In the past, hair color with any level of copper or red in it, would, unfortunately, immediately begin to fade and be totally gone from my hair in a few weeks - way sooner than expected. However, I find eSalon is holding great! Although the color has faded to a degree (which I expected) , I am still very pleased with eSalon formula's holding power overall! I am a few weeks from touch up and I feel it will be perfect timing. I am very excited to reapply this new color again. So far, I am very pleased with eSalon' and have no plans to discontinue using it in the near future.

Your product was excellent, loved the resulting color, all product were great. My only problem is that after I ordered your product kit, my credit card information was stolen.
