Loved the color and it works!I loved the overall color. They gave me 2 kits, one for roots, and other for the ends. It was quite fascinating to see that two different bottles blend in so nicely. Yet, I did not like the smell of ammonia and my eyes went dry after applying the formula. Roots only colorThe product was as expected in that it covered gray well. The shampoo and conditioner was excellent, smelled great, didn’t dry out my hair, and the conditioner closed the hair cuticle well and added some shine. Color is good, smell is not!This dye worked well, color turned out nice. The smell, however, was horrible. The ammonia content must be very high, and I was in a well-ventilated area. Good color match but product seemed harshLove the color, but after this application I felt my hair appeared burned on many of the fine baby hairs and I also lost quite a bit of hair down the drain during the wash out. Do the strand test first!!!Like so many I decided to try and color my hair during covid salon closures. Escalon is excellent if you have a darker color than your natural or want to match your natural to cover grays. Unfortunately, I wanted to lighten my natural a lot because I have heavy blonde highlights— this is just not a realistic expectation with at home color. I cannot stress enough DO THE STRAND TEST FIRST... if you don’t like the shade, they are more than happy to send you out something different.
