Really great home product!I have a toddler and an infant plus a full time job and my own company on the side, so it makes it super difficult to get to the salon for a major appointment. Especially for my 5 week gray root touch ups. I had been using the store box root touch up for awhile but it was making my hair look brassy and my faded highlights were looking overprocessed and unhealthy. Thought for $10 I might as well try this. Wow, the help from the stylist was awesome and she picked a color she thought would be best for me and what I was looking to achieve. I wanted to go darker for fall but still show the domination of my highlights. The color she chose was perfect. It was a medium brown with hints on mahagony. It made my once too blonde faded highlights a beautiful copper/caramel color just like I wanted. Also, what a great kit to start off with. Very impressed with the packaging and all the extra products to show you what you can achieve. They even said if I didn't like the color they chose then they would send me a revised one to match what I wanted free of charge. I have color!!I had gotten used to hair color not really covering my gray hair, so I stopped wasting my money and time trying to make it happen. 12 years later... I needed to make a life style change, get a job and move forward. I started a diet plan and thought maybe I could try the hair thing again, eSalon came in an email and I responded. It is awesome! Very strong, too darkI requested Light ash brown. My prior experience with hair color, this is what I have been using. I had been having trouble with it turning auburn within 2 or 3 weeks so that is why I tried your product. First, it is a very strong product. I only left it on for 25 minutes and when i rinsed it off my hair felt very dry, After the cream rinse it felt better but when I looked in the mirror I was very surprised. My hair was almost balckish brown. Even the next week, friends asked, "What were you thinking? You have such fair skin. That color is way too dark." But its time soon again to color and I cant go through that dark color for light ash brown again. I also would never had signed up if I had know you set it up on a subscription. Now I have a box that cost me way too much that I would never use. I also tried to call twice, waited many minutes on hold, and then was told to leave a message. Never got a call back. Not perfect but WAY better than box dye and saves me a trip to the salonI normally go to a salon to get my hair lightened but I'm 9 months pregnant and preparing to not have the time to get my hair done with two little ones running around for a long time, so I decided to go dark again. I have a large patch of grey in the front of my hair (more silvery, not wiry) and saw eSalon advertised on Pinterest so I decided to give it a try. The directions were more or less easy to understand although I got confused about the two different bottles for my particular color having one bottle for the roots then a second completely different bottle for the ends (I thought my kit came with a complimentary 2nd color kit since it had a tag on it that said "free gift" or something to that effect on it). The coloring process went easily. I recommend springing for the cape, its excellent quality and I'll continue to use it. The bowl/brush/clips are good quality too, but I ended up just using it straight from the bottle onto my roots and ends. I noticed a big difference between this dye and box dye in the shower while rinsing too. With box dye my hair usually feels almost matted until I use the heavy conditioner that they usually come with. After rinsing this out, which rinsed easily, my hair felt soft even without the accompanying shampoo/conditioner. After the post color shampoo and conditioning my hair felt even better with this dye. I let it air dry and was very surprised that it came out just as expected. My only complaint with the color is that my greys up in front were still slightly there/noticeable but next time I will try leaving the color on the roots a bit longer and see if that helps. After several washes with regular drugstore shampoo I haven't noticed much fading in color at all and my hair still feels nice and healthy a week later. Best Custom Hair ColorI am very satisfied with my purchase from eSalon. My natural color is a very dark brown, almost black. I had never colored my hair, and decided to go to the salon near me and have them color my hair. I had it colored a light brown, with some blonde hightlights. They did a very nice Job, but it became to much to manage. I decided to go back to my original color, but when I went back to the salon to have it done, they never seemed to be able to get it exactly right. I still had a lot of upkeep and the color was never quite right. So I decide to send my picture to eSalon and see what could be done. I received all the supplies as noted on the website. Very nicely packaged, I must say. Good quality supplies. I colored my hair last night, per the stylist instructions and low and behold, I am back to being medium brown. Just as I requested.
