A Surprisingly Awful ExperienceI used the Custom Hair Color a couple of times and couldn't understand why the roots were not the right color. But nevertheless, I was getting the hang of doing it myself. The last time I applied it, I had asked them to take out the red, but this time instead of being a dark brown which I hoped for, the roots were a light, mustardy, brassy brown. And what's worse is that when I applied the color this time it burned like hell! My scalp felt irritated for days afterward. Awesome Color!At first, I was hesitant about the color choice. After I applied it, followed the directions as instructed, it was better than I pictured! I absolutely love my new color! Nice color, quality and easy to use.I really liked to color my hair at home with the kit that I purchased here. I had never done anything on my hair by myself. I was anxious to cover my last balayage and go back to my original color (medium to dark brown). I chose "chocolate" as my new color and considering that was my first time I really liked. I wish I could post a picture of my hair after the process. It is shiny and really soft. I have really long hair and a lot as well. The 2 bottles that I received were more than enough for coloring my full hair. (by the end I still had a 1/3 of the bottle 1 for the roots) Negative: one down side to me was the smell, it is really strong and I had to do it in the bathroom, so my eyes suffered a little bit. Honestly I didn't even do any allergy test and the product didn't hurt my skin (usually when I color my hair at the salon my scalp itches a lot). I also wish that they sent 2 wipes of color remover because I did a pretty good mess. I also had to put another pair of gloves to wash my hair (the kit comes with 2 but since I used to different colors I didn't want to mix them by using the same pair of gloves) but those are minor things. Formula adjustment was excellentI asked for a lighter brown that would keep out the brassiness and received a perfect color for me.
