Scalp Broke OutThe color was ok, nothing spectacular or that I haven't achieved from other box colors but my scalp broke out in sores as a reaction to something in the color. In rare cases, one can develop sensitivity to hair color over time. This is why eSalon recommends performing a skin allergy test 48 hours before each hair color application. Looked naturalNot as blond as I would like but it did lighten the color for the winter months.. This company save your details though and dispatch another color out to you without asking if you wanted it first, I didn't like this so will not be using them again.. Custom hair colorI have darker hair in the back and lots of white hair in the front and after two attempts including having to spend an additional $6 at a beauty supply store .....it still did not solve my issues... Custom Hair ColorHmm... I wanted to try this as it is advertised to be so much better than box and more affordable than a salon. My personal experience is it did not do any better than box color for gray coverage and my hair didn't feel any better than when colored with my normal box color. I love the personal service!Using eSalon is BETTER than going to a salon to a colorist. eSalon has a long series of questions they ask about the condition of your hair, what color it is now, what color are you going for, how easy does your hair take color, how much grey do you have...just enough to know that they really care about getting it right. I sent a picture along with the survey and I was contacted by a colorist within 24 hours letting me know what they thought would work for me. I approved it before they sent the kit. Everything comes in a beautiful little box and the colorist even signs the instructions. I have colored my own hair before and the eSalon instructions were the easiest to follow, really tailored for me and my hair. I also looked up the eSalon videos on YouTube giving instructions. The videos gave me an extra boost of confidence. The coloring process went very smoothly. The little packets of shampoo and conditioner included in the kit were wonderful. I loved my hair color and texture, it turned out beautifully. The color is multi-dimensional and rich. I think it looks like I have highlights and lowlights, which would have been super expensive at a salon. I received an email a few weeks after coloring asking me how I liked my color and if I would like to tweak it a bit. I told them a couple of things I would like changed and my second kit is on it's way. I can't express how excited I am about this service. I care more about my hair than any salon will. I feel like I have so much more control and expression in how my hair looks. This is an awesome personal service at an amazing price! Great productThis product has been a godsend! They took feedback early on and corrected some timing issues so customers had the opportunity to change, tweak or ask questions of a colorist. My hair color is very difficult to match. It is a very deep auburn. While not perfect, these colorists have gotten closer to my natural color than salon colorists for a quarter of the price and they did so, sight unseen. The color does not have a harsh effect on my hair and lasts a good long time. Highly recommend! Most amazing (I-don't-know-why-you-haven't-tried-it-already)I have been coloring my hair for over 40 years now and I will say without an ounce of hesitation.....This stuff is the best ever! I used to color and then within a week or after a few washes the grey was back. UGH! I am over a month now with my Custom Hair Color and there is barely a hint of the grey.
