I do not like the conditioner & shampoo. It makes my hair super greasy. When I blow dry my hair it comes out fuzzy. Very frustrating with the shampoo & conditioner.

I have fairly long thick hair, and while this conditioner smells great and held the color well, it left my hair pretty dry, even when followed up with a leave in conditioner. Even when I let it soak in my hair for 10-15 minutes before rinsing I was unsatisfied with the hydration and texture of my hair while using the conditioner.

The shampoo consistency is too thin and I needed to pump 6-8 times to get enough lather to clean my hair. I tried adding more water to my hair to help spread it out, but it's already too thin anyway that the product could not distribute it any further. It does not feel like this shampoo cleans my hair as well either. I have to wash my hair more often now. The smell is pleasant and I wanted to like it, but I will not be purchasing it again.

I’m not overly impressed if I’m honest. I split my hair into 2 sections and use 2 pumps per section I applied to one side with 2 pumps and I didn’t even get to the end of my hair until it seemed to just vanish. Smell not great either

I purchase two bottles of the shampoo. I only had used it after coloring. It does lather. Not sure it is cleaning all of my hair. I definitely like the ways the Body shampoo leaves my hair. Love doesn't leave my hair with the same effect.

8 pumps of shampoo to get a lather and only 4 pumps of conditioner. The sachet you receive in the colour lathers lovely can’t understand why the bottle would be any less larther. The end result goes look and feel lovely though.

In order for my hair to feel clean, I have to shampoo twice. I have not had to shampoo twice since I was a teenager and had oily hair. I am not sure if this is how you intended it to work, but since I am not used to shampooing twice, it seems an inconvenience. Even after the second shampoo, my hair just doesnt feel like I'm used to it feeling when it is clean. I'll continue to use it as it makes my hair feel soft, but with the conditioner, my hair is very flat. I do like the Volume shampoo/condition.

I always use the packet of this conditioner after I rinse out my color and my hair always looked great so I was incredibly disappointed that after purchasing 2 bottles (I thought it would just take a little more time so I ordered another bottle) I now realize this conditioner just doesn't work on my hair. Leaves it tangled and frizzy with a greasy scalp. I love esalon products so hoping I can find one of their conditioners that works for me.

I went ahead and spent the extra money and bought the shampoo and conditioner... It's just another full bottle that I wouldn't really use. It's a little bit expensive for what you get. Maybe I'm just spoiled.

I love it when I use it right after dying my hair but I bought a bottle a while back and it took so much of it to make it feel like it was working that I stopped using it and I have very short hair! Love the smell of it though.

My review is for the volumizimg product but am writing the review here because this is what I had purchased. Went to eSalon to have my hair done, which was a great experience, and purchased the shampoo and conditioner there. Didn’t notice I had gotten volumizimg conditioner instead of the color care conditioner. I decided to keep it and use it then order the other conditioner. Not sure about this condioner yet. I don’t like the way my hair felt. It wasn’t as smooth as I thought it should be? Because of that I did not blow dry my hair but applied additional protective products. I will have to continue using and review again.

This shampoo smells great and does leave my hair clean. However, the wave and curl I have fall out immediately. My normally wavy and curly hair is left limp and almost completely straight. This may be an excellent shampoo and conditioner for someone else.

I can’t use this shampoo on a regular basis. It smells amazing, but it caused my hair to remain greasy. Once or twice within the month, I was able to use it minimally to restore moisture. If I applied too much, my hair was greasy instantly. I was disappointed.

Everywhere my bangs and hair touch my face is a field of blackheads and pimples and scabs and scars because of whatever is in this conditioner. I have been going through hell trying to figure it out for months, and I'm horrified it's this. I used to have completely blemish free skin and this awful product has ruined my face. Do not use if you have sensitive skin or bangs!

This shampoo smells fantastic! Otherwise, I wasn’t impressed. It doesn’t lather well, and I need to pump the bottle 8 times just to get enough shampoo. For $15 dollars it’s such a small bottle. I’d rather stick to Redken.

The first shampoo did not show any 'foaming up' to let me know it was really there. After the initial wash and rinse, I put on another tsp or so of the shampoo and it foamed up slightly. I will continue to use and see if it improves. I shampoo every second day so the hair wasn't that dirty.

The bottle is very small for the price. The plunger doesn't work and I have to open the lid to get it out. There is no fragrance and it is not the same quality as what comes with the hair coloring. I won't buy this again it is very poor quality.

I was out of conditioner when I ordered my color, so I bought some of this. It doesn't work on my hair. First I had to use a ton of it just to get it through my hair, then after letting it sit for a couple minutes, it felt like I hadn't conditioned it at all.

I like it. Seems to condition my hair but I don't think it is anything special. And my color has been fading pretty quickly even though I only was my hair 3-4 times a week using this and the color care shampoo. Not sure if that is a strike against this product or a strike against the esalon hair color. I wouldn't spend the money on it again.

Can't say this shampoo really does it for me. It's not got the fragrance or creaminess that I hoped. It doesn't lather up easily either. It does clean my hair, it just doesn't have that special quality which I'd expect for the price, sadly.

I have given all of these products more than a fair trial run. The first time I said may be I did something
wrong? Next couple of times knowing I have extremely thick hair I kept another brand on stand by, as this Shampoo literally would suds up a little bit, but not turn into a nice deep sudy later like every other shampoo I have ever used or tried.
It simply was not making my hair feel clean.
So I am not saying for you to not try the product, but for extremely thick hair... it does not seem as though this product can handle the job.

I have given all of these products more than a fair trial run. The first time I said may be I did something
wrong? Next couple of times knowing I have extremely thick hair I kept another brand on stand by, but also esalon leave in conditioner.
I kid you not I used HALF of 1 bottle on my head and it still had not absorbed into my hair! I was truly in shock. Lastly I attempted 1 more time with the leave in conditioner done at the end. That helped, but my hair still. Felt like broken coarse hay in some areas. Sadly this product made my hair worse in some aspects causing me to need professional conditioning treatments etc.
So I am not saying do not try the product, but for extremely thick natural curly hair... it does not seem as though their products are cut out for that.

I don't like the Shsmpoo it doesn't lather up enough and my hair felt dirty afterwards.

My hair has also become very dry. It's been dry so I wash and condition every other day. I recently switched to a color treated hair shampoo. Any suggestions?

No lather

It took a lot of shampoo to get the slightest lather. Smells great, and I was even OK with the small bottle. I just wish it felt like it was cleaning my hair.

takes a lot of shampoo to get a good lather, not crazy about the product. seems different from the packet that comes with the hair color kit.

Chemicals like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate are often used in soaps and shampoos to cause a lather, however these chemicals can also strip your hair of moisture and color. All of our products are sulfate free to keep your hair healthy and vibrant. We recommend adding water to your hair after applying the shampoo and massaging into a lather. We would also like to confirm that both this bottle and the packet included in the hair color kit are the same shampoo.

I think I have a mental hurdle to get over regarding this shampoo. It seems to clean my hair but there is hardly any lather. Consequently I can't feel it working. I'm taking it for granted that it isn't meant lather - am I right? There doesn't seem to be much of a fragrance, which for me is fine. Perhaps I'm just used to using expensive, highly fragranced shampoo that stripped my hair of natural oils and colour quickly.

AnnEA - We want to assure you that our shampoos do not lather like some other shampoos. Our Heart Lock It Color Care Shampoo is sulfate-free. Sulfates such as sodium lauryl sulfate can cause a shampoo to lather, but also scan strip your hair of moisture and color. If you need to increase the lather, you can added water to the shampoo after you apply it and massage through the scalp. We hope this information is reassuring!

I've had better shampoos that are made to preserve the color. With this shampoo, it took quiet a lot in order to get enough coverage, plus it left my hair feeling course, not soft or smooth. It didn't soap up well and I had to follow up with another shampoo, essentially shampooing twice to get my hair thoroughly cleaned. I think I paid $15 and that's quiet a bit for my budget, especially for such a small bottle. Sorry, but it's a "no go" from me.

I used this product the whole time between coloring, and I didn't think it preserved shine, wash-out, or the color any better than the store products do.

I suppose for many people, added body and texture is beneficial but my hair already has lots of natural wave, with a "C" shape from the temples around the ear and all through the back, so I don't need a lot of extra body from a conditioner. I prefer a lighter volume without any added weight so, even though it does what you say it will do, I can take it or leave it.
